The numbers you run on, without assembling them first
Most owners we meet can tell you exactly which numbers matter. What they cannot do is see them without somebody spending half a day pulling them together, which means they see them monthly instead of daily.
How it usually works today
- The monthly figures take somebody a day to build.
- By the time you see a number, the month it describes is over.

Derived, never stored
We compute totals from the underlying records every time rather than keeping a running figure. A stored total is a number that can drift from the thing it describes — the payment lands, the counter write fails, and the report says something that is not true, with nothing to say so. Deriving it is slightly more work and removes a whole class of quiet error.
Fewer numbers, more trust
A dashboard with thirty figures on it gets looked at twice. The useful version has four, they are the four you actually act on, and you believe them. Working out which four is part of the drawing stage, not something to decide after the software is built.
